Clinical Laboratory
The Hemostasis and Thrombosis Clinical Laboratory, located within the Florida Hospital Center for Thrombosis Research serves as a specialist resource to physicians and medical centers in the diagnosis of bleeding and clotting disorders. The laboratory is directed by John L. Francis, Ph.D., who has more than 30 years of experience in this field and managed by Ed Reyes M.S., MT(ASCP), SM, SH.
Conveniently located in Orlando, Florida, this extremely well equipped laboratory offers the widest range of esoteric blood coagulation tests available anywhere in Florida and performs around 50,000 such tests annually. Our staff is always available to discuss appropriate patient evaluation and significance of coagulation test results.
The Hemostasis and Thrombosis Laboratory is accredited by the State of Florida and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and meets all requirements of the Clinical Laboratories Improvement Act (CLIA '88). View or download our Certificates of Accreditation.
We were a founding member of the North American Specialized Coagulation Laboratory Association (NASCOLA).

Our laboratory provides many specialized coagulation tests not available elsewhere. These include flow cytometry for platelet activation and sophisticated assessments of platelet, coagulation and fibrinolytic activation.
We can also support individual research needs on a collaborative or contract basis, or assist in the evaluation of difficult or unusual patients.
Laboratory hours:
Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 5:00 pm
Weekends 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
